The Frontier War

Status: PROVISIONAL (→ CANON once the timeline is locked)

The primary military conflict of Book One. It occurs several years after the Devastation War and partially emerges from unresolved Devastation-era political and strategic decisions.

What is established PROVISIONAL

• It is the present-day war the squadron fights.
• It is causally downstream of Devastation — the earlier war's unstable armistice and unresolved choices feed it.
• It is the arena in which Greg tests his belief in operational autonomy through URRD.

What is open OPEN

• The precise inciting incident and opening moves.
• The belligerents, the front, and the strategic geography.
• How the war's pressure maps onto the Active Counter beats (Markus's loss, return, and the finale).

Warning

Do not resolve Devastation Day or invent precise dates in order to "explain" the Frontier War's origin. The causal link is established; the specifics are intentionally still open.
